Who We Are
One day every child will be able to read
MYReaders empowers children, through communities, by providing structured and sustainable reading programmes.
Our journey began in 2014 when four English teachers taught in some of the highest need secondary schools in Malaysia under the Teach for Malaysia Fellowship.
During their teaching years, Charis Ding, Alex Lim, Rachel Lim, and Tay Sue Yen started after-school mentor-mentee reading programmes in their respective schools when they realised that their students could not read or understand basic English sentences. This collaboration eventually evolved into the creation of a structured reading programme with localized reading materials illustrated by Malaysian students and teachers.

Since then, MYReaders has impacted more than
36262
students
1972
parents
1057
teachers
2420
volunteers
through the remedial reading programmes, teacher training as well as creation of engaging lessons and modules.
MYReaders is officially registered as a society with the Registrar of Society Malaysia as Persatuan Literasi Anak Malaysia since the 11th of December 2015 and is accredited as a Social Enterprise by the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development (MED) and the Malaysian Global Innovation & Creativity Center (MaGIC) in 2020.
